

The agenda will include a ceremony at the forest on Saturday afternoon and a communal campfire in the evening. Family members of such people will also be welcome. Attendance will be limited to members of clubs affiliated with Bushwalking NSW (which includes NPA and Blue Mountains Conservation Society). Weather and track-openings permitting, the anniversary will be celebrated on the weekend of 3-4 September by a campout at The Meadow (opposite Acacia Flat). On 2 September it will be 90 years since the reservation of the Blue Gum Forest, in the Grose Valley, following a campaign by bushwalkers.

The walk leaves the farms and explores the more dense forest and granite boulders before coming to the granite carved Cox's River where we can cross the bridge and we can swim around here or a bit further on near the campsite. About 1km into the walk we cross the Guyvey Bridge and through the pleasant open farmland with views of the distant escarpment. Map: Bibbulmun Track.ġ Jan (Sat) 2000: MEGALONG (M) MEGALONG TO COX 'S RIVER CAMPSITE (M) Starting from Megalong Rd intersection with the 6 ft track from Nellies Glen we go past the historic Megalong Cemetery and then through some farmland along private dirt roads on part of the Six Foot Track. We will camp at the designated Bibbulmun campsites which have a shelter, table and benches, water tank and drop toilet - luxury! Weekly stopovers in a town for a shower and re-stock of food supplies. It passes through many of the most beautiful national parks of the south west forests and coastline.We will take about 50 days to complete the walk. The Track takes walkers through towering karri and tingle forests, down mist-shrouded valleys, over giant granite boulders and along breathtaking coastal heathlands. It passes through the heart of the scenic south west of Western Australia.
